In 2016 I wrote an Android App dubbed Neartype which collected social media data from several sources and presented the data on a map. Data was sourced from: Twitter, Tumblr, Meetup, RSS Feeds and others.
I wrote the backend webservice with RESTlets which hit a PostgreSQL database which did many of the PostGIS operations for querying. The project was placed into hibernation in 2016 when I joined Digital Reasoning.
